Vic, with his wife, Melva, and son, Kirby, operate a 3,400-head nursery outside of Rosston, Oklahoma. Vic, a fifth-generation farmer, took advantage of an opportunity to return home to his family’s operation.
“Our farm is coming upon 100 years, and our opportunity to come back to the farm and raise our kids is one that we didn’t want to pass up,” Vic says.
This family work hard to keep the environment safe and to operate the most efficient farm possible. Vic has worked with the Oklahoma Wildlife Department on conservation. He understands that the land he is on is all there is, and it’s necessary to take care of it.
“There are four generations before me that have given me the responsibility of caring for this land,” Vic said. “Hopefully I can pass it on to future generations.” Submit your own Farmer Spotlight Story! More Farmer Spotlight Stories
